11x16 Large Roaster (7-9 lb) Shrink Bag Our shrink bags are 55 micron high barrier.
Today’s pasture raised birds are noticeably larger around than a few years ago. Many broilers can be harvested at 6-6½ weeks for a 3½ -4 pound carcass. If holding Cornish cross to 8 weeks use at lease a 10x16 bag and consider going to a 11x18 bag for the larger girth of the bird.
***NOTICE: We cannot take bags back once they have been on the farm due to possibility of contamination.
Please don’t ask as you would not want bags from some other farm***
Great Buy and Advice!

So here is was setting at this computer a little over a week ago thinking how nice it would be to try some of the bags. I usually produce batches of 50 meat birds at at time and don't usually have room to keep many of them whole, and since I ordered them late Tuesday I didn't really expect they would arrive by Saturday to allow me to use them on this batch, but thanks to the quick shipping (got them on Friday (NY to NC)) I was able to use them on some of my smaller birds. I ordered the 11X16 based on the advice given and they worked perfectly for my 4.5 to 5.5 pound birds. I don' think I would have had any problem even with my largest birds and they shrunk down to the smallest bird at around 4 lb 4 oz just fine also. I couldn't be happier with my purchase and will use these again in the future.
