Sayurday June 23,2012 At the Glenwood Center in Cold Spring, NY

This all day workshop by Jim McLaughlin will teach you the necessary skills to process poultry on your own farm. Conducted in both classroom and in Glynwood’s onsite poultry processing facility, students will learn:

  • proper techniques for processing poultry
  • information on health, sanitation and safety issues, and HACCP
  • correct methods for handling, packaging, and storing the poultry
  • equipment necessary for processing poultry

The morning session is conducted in the classroom and will cover health, sanitation, HACCP, legal issues and an overview of proper equipment. The afternoon session is hands-on and participants will learn the proper techniques for humane processing as well as techniques for packaging, sale and storage.

Class size is limited and pre-registration is necessary. The price of the event includes morning coffee and lunch beverages. Please register by calling Anita Barber on 845-265-3338.
